Art is for Everyone. Let’s Make Something Together.
Accessible creativity for all — using humble materials to tell big stories.
I am a mixed media teaching artist rooted in place, memory, and creative reuse. My classes and workshops invite participants to see the materials already in their lives - recycled packaging, old maps, found papers, fabric scraps - as the starting point for meaningful art-making.
I design workshops for adults, seniors, veterans, and military families, with no prior art experience required.
Every session is hands-on, process-centered, and grounded in the belief that creativity belongs to everyone — not just those with formal training or expensive supplies.
My teaching practice spans six countries and two decades, from community centers on military bases in Turkey, South Korea, and Germany, to nonprofit arts organizations, libraries, and cultural institutions across the Washington DC Metro area. I currently teach regularly at UpCycle Creative Reuse Center in Alexandria, VA and for Mission Belonging, serving veterans and military families throughout the DMV.
Current Workshop Offerings
Recycled Bookbinding & Personal Journals
Transform everyday recycled materials — cereal boxes, cardboard mailers, maps, and scrap paper — into a handmade journal using the pamphlet stitch binding technique. Participants leave with a completed, functional book and the confidence to keep making at home.
Ideal for: adults, seniors, veterans and military families
Mixed Media Collage
Layer found papers, personal photographs, paint, and ephemera into expressive mixed media compositions. Each class explores a different theme — place, memory, home, and belonging.
Ideal for: adults, all skill levels
Happy Mail Postcards
Create one-of-a-kind mail art using rescued junk mail, magazine pages, and found materials. Walk away with a finished, ready-to-send postcard.
Ideal for: adults, beginners welcome
