That stack of junk mail, magazine pages, cereal boxes and packing paper you’ve been meaning to deal with — it’s about to become a journal. In this hands-on class, mixed media artist Nerissa Alford will guide you through the pamphlet stitch to create a beautiful junk journal from rescued and repurposed materials. You’ll learn to fold and gather signatures, stitch them together, and finish with a cover made from recycled packaging or cardboard. The result is a chunky, characterful journal that’s uniquely yours and ready to fill. Bring any paper scraps, ephemera, or packaging you’ve been saving. Materials are provided, but the personal stuff is what makes it yours.
